‘It’s such a fun evening. We have a good sing and a good chat with the others in the group and a good laugh - everyone is so lovely and friendly as is, of course, our fantastic choir leader Andy Ingram. He’s so encouraging…. I know Wednesday nights at Bocking Village Hall, Braintree are fabulous. I’m so glad I found the Buskerteers.’

No previous musical experience needed
If you’ve never sung before or played any instruments, don’t worry! We can teach you how to sing with our professional, trained musicians. We’ll make sure you improve your singing while enjoying yourself every week.
We know it can be scary to sing in front of people so that’s why we’ll never make you sing on your own. You’ll always sing in groups, with friendly people supporting you.
Find your safe space with us
With increasing loneliness and anxiety, you can find a safe space to find yourself again or escape from the pressures of life. Get support from like-minded people who genuinely care about you.
"I’ve been going to the Braintree group since it started in September last year. I absolutely love the fun and camaraderie that I get every week. Such a friendly bunch of people and so supportive. Our choir master Andy is fantastic. No one sings on their own and if you’re worried please don’t be. Come and join us, I love it!!!"

About the Braintree choir group
Our choir is a friendly and welcoming bunch. Packed with humour and enthusiasm from our singers, our sessions are always a great place to be in. With an atmosphere that’s full of life, we have a busy rehearsal room that is perfect for singing together in a group. Even if you’re nervous, we’ll look after you and take you under our wing.
"I’d recommend everything... sharing our love of music with each other, making new friends and feeling part of something rather special. Raising money is always a great thing to do, too"

A message from your choir leader
My name is Andy Ingram and I am the Buskerteers Choir Leader for Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Braintree and Clacton.
I've been a professional musician for many years. I've travelled all over the world performing at many different shows, corporate events and weddings.

I'm very excited to welcome you into our choir and to take you on an amazing musical journey. We'll be learning songs and performing on stage together, and trying to raise as much money for charity as we can with our busking and performing.
I can't wait to meet you! Have a listen to my performance in the meantime.

Pride of Britain awards
In 2021, our founder and Director of the Buskerteers Choir, Andrew Small, was nominated for a Pride of Britain Award for fundraising.

ITV News attended our local choir rehearsal to find out more about the Buskerteers.
“Not only do you come out of the session with such a BRILLIANT BUZZ but weeks and months later, when you think about it, you get the ‘Afterglow’ and you smile all over again.”
